Production of isocyanulate group-containing polyisocyanate and use thereof |
abstract |
PURPOSE: To obtain a compd. useful as a component of high quality two- component polyurethane lacquer by the partial trimerizing reaction of isocyanate group-containing org. diisocyanate. n CONSTITUTION: A part of an isocyanate group of org. diisocyanate containing an isocyanate group of an aliphatic and/or cyclic aliphatic bond is trimerized in the presence of a quaternary ammonium fluoride catalyst (e.g. N,N,N- trimethyl-N-benzylammonium fluoride) in an inert gas atmosphere such as nitrogen at 0-100°C. A catalyst poison (e.g.; dibutyl phosphate) is added to stop trimerization reaction to obtain an objective substance. The use amt. of the catalyst is 0.1% or less by wt. of dlisocyanate. It is pref. to remove unreacted diisocyanate by thin layer distillation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO |
