titleOfInvention Production of thermoplastic resin
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject resin for a film excellent in metal-deposition property, surface gloss, etc., by esterifying a diol component with a dicarboxylic acid component and then adding trimethylphosphate and porous amorphous silica thereto under specified conditions. n CONSTITUTION: An esterification reaction between (A) a diol component composed of ethylene glycol in an amount of ≥90wt.% content and (B) a carboxylic acid component composed of terephthalic acid or derivative thereof in an amount of ≥90wt.% content is carried out and (C) an Mg salt is then added thereto in an amount of 30≤Mg≤120 (Mg is Mg content ppm in the thermoplastic polyster resin). To the resultant mixture (D) trimethylphosphate is added in an amount of 1≤P/Mg≤2 (P is P atom content ppm in the above-mentioned resin) followed by mixing an further addition of (E) an porous amorphous silica with 0.5≤D≤2.5 (D is average particle size) and 0.4≤V≤1.8 (V Is pore volume ml/g) in an amount of 300-1,200ppm based on the above-mentioned ester. The resultant mixture is then subjected to a polycondensation reaction, thus obtaining the objective resin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio
