PURPOSE: To form the subject bond giving biologically active peptides by treating a cysteine-containing peptide with hydroperoxide. n CONSTITUTION: A cysteine-containing peptide [e.g., α-hANP (human atrium- originated sodium-excretory polypeptide)] prepared by a gene recombination method, etc., is dissolved in an adequate buffer solution and subsequently reacted with hydroperoxide preferably at a pH of 7-11 at room temperature to form the objective intramolecular disulfide bond. The mixing ratio of the hydroperoxide to the cysteine-containing peptide is preferably selected from a range of 1:1-3:1. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO&Japio |
