titleOfInvention Long-chain alkenylpyridine derivative and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The long-chain alkenylpyridine derivative of formula I (n) is integer of 4W20). n EXAMPLE: 4-(17-Octadecenyl)pyridine. n USE: An ampholytic polymerizable monomer having high activity, useful as a raw material for LB membrane and capable of imparting an LR membrane with moderate hardness and heatresistance by the solid-phase polymerization of built-up film produced by using the compound. n PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be selectively produced by reacting a compound of formula II (X is halogen) with 4-methylpyridine in the presence of Li salt of hexamethylenedisilazane or a compound of formula III (R 1 and R 2 are H, lower alkyl or together form lower alkylene). The starting compound of formula II is produced by reducing a compound of formula IV and halogenating the resultant compound of formula V. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
