titleOfInvention Filament of fiber-forming polyester copolymer
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a filament of a fiber-forming polyester copolymer composed of a new polymer containing p-oxybenzoyl unit, oxy-carbonylbenzophenone unit, dioxyphenylene unit and terephthaloyl unit and exhibiting high strength and modulus by heat-treatment. n CONSTITUTION: The objective fiber is produced by using a fiber-forming polyester copolymer composed of 56-70 mol% of a unit of formula I (X is H, methyl or Cl), 10-20 mol% of a unit of formula II (R is X), 7-12 mol% of a unit of formula III and a unit of formula IV of an amount equivalent to the unit of formula III. The above copolymer can be produced e.g. by polymerizing 4- acetoxybenzoic acid, 4-acetoxy-3'-carboxybenzophenone, hydroquinone diacetate and terephthalic acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
