abstract PURPOSE: To obtain warmth retaining clothes capable of making the gap distance between two fabrics variable and changing the warmth retaining properties of the clothes according to a change in environmental temperature by arranging a shape memorizing alloy member in the intermediate part of the two fabrics, causing a three-dimensional dimensional change under prescribed temperature conditions and deforming the shape memorizing alloy member. n CONSTITUTION: The warmth retaining clothes are obtained by arranging a shape memorizing alloy member 2 capable of forming a conical spiral shape having 5cm height at ≤8°C in any of the shoulder, breast and back parts of the clothes containing a wadding 5 arranged in the intermediate between, e.g. a face cloth 3 and a lining cloth 4. The shape memorizing alloy member 2 acts to form a solid body when the environmental temperature attains a prescribed temperature or below. Thereby, the interval between the face and lining clothes 3 and 4 is extended to increase the thickness and raise the air content and warmth retaining properties are imparted thereto. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
