titleOfInvention Controller of blight for laver and controlling of blight of laver
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title controller especially useful for cultured laver, capable of safely and surely preventing blights of laver such as such as chytrid blight, capable of carrying out blight exterminating treatment only by a simple operation of immersion of laver in a treating solution by dissolving chitosan in sea water. CONSTITUTION:Chitosan obtained from chitin prepared mainly from Crustacea such as chionoecetes opilio as a raw material is adjusted to 0.05-0.5% concentration, optionally made into pH2-3 in the presence of an acid such as acetic acid or lactic acid and dissolved in sea water to give a treating solution. Laver is immersed in the treating solution for several minutes-about 30 minutes to control blights badly damaging production of laver by culture. Simultaneous addition of conventional blight controller such as benzoic acid, sorbic acid, adipic acid, malic acid and/or salt thereof can effectively control blights by synergistic effects with chitosan and vitamin, mineral, amino acid, other nutritive agent, etc., can be added to the controller.
