titleOfInvention Electrophotographic sensitive body
abstract PURPOSE:To enhance photosensitivity and repetition characteristics by forming an electric charge generating layer using a vinyl chloride copolymer as a binder. CONSTITUTION:The charge generating layer 2 formed on a conductive substrate 1 comprises the vinyl chloride copolymer as the binder and as a charge generating material a phthalocyanine compound, such as metal-free phthalocyanine, titanyl phthalocyanine chloride, and aluminum phthalocyanine chloride, various azo compounds, squarilium compounds, azulenium compounds, quinone compounds, and indigo pigments, and one of them suitable to the wavelength region of the exposure light source to be used for forming an image can be selected. The thickness of the charge generating layer is decided in accordance with the light absorption coefficient so as to fully exhibit the charge generating function of said layer, thus permitting photosensitivity and repetition characteristics to be enhanced.
