PURPOSE: To measure the degree of deterioration of an extractant by measuring the contents of one component and/or several components of dibutyl phosphate=-substd. butyl which is the deteriorated product in the extractant by a gas chromatograph method. n CONSTITUTION: After used nuclear fuel is dissolved in nitric acid, the sepn. of uranium and plutonium which are useful as nuclear fuel from various fission products, the sepn. of the uranium and the plutonium and the refining of the uranium and plutonium are executed by combination of solvent extraction and reverse extraction to nitric acid after said products are controlled to the nitric acid concn. adequate for respective stages. The contents of one component and/or several components of dibutyl phosphate=-substd. butyl are measured by the gas chromatograph method without executing pretreatments.
