abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polypropylene composition superior in flame retardancy by adding a flame retarder composed of decabromodiphenyl oxide and a specific polycycloalkane bromide, into a specific quantity of polpropylene. n CONSTITUTION: (A) Decarbromodiphenyl oxide and (B) a polycycloalkane bromide which has a 8-12C ring, and in which a number of bromine atoms bound with the ring is at least 4 (for example: 1,2,5,6-tetrabromocyclooctane) are prepared. And the A component and the B component of the quantities to given UL-94 evaluation value of V-0 to a composition, are added to polypropylene when the A component and the B component are combined to be used. Further an inert filler (for example: talc) is added by the quantity not lowering the UL-94 evaluation value of V-0, to V-2, according to the necessity, to prepare the flame retardant polypropylene composition having UL-94 evaluation value of V-0. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
