abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title foam having a short expansion and curing time and excellent adhesiveness, by adding a blowing agent and a curing agent to a specified mixed resol phenol resin and expanding the obtained mixture. n CONSTITUTION: A blowing agent (e.g., trichlorofluoromethane), a curing agent (e.g., p-toluenesulfonic acid) and, optionally, a foam stabilizer (e.g., castor oil/ ethylene oxide adduct) are added to a mixed resol phenol resin obtained by mixing 5W80wt.% low-MW resol phenol resin of a number-average MR <200 with 95W20wt.% high-MW resol phenol resin of a number-average MW >200, and the obtained mixture is expanded by vigorous agitation at room temperature. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
