titleOfInvention Metallized electric discharge lamp
abstract PURPOSE: To improve life characteristics by specifying the relation between a sealing quantity of a rare gas and the inside diameter of a light emitting tube. n CONSTITUTION: A pair of electrodes 2a and 2b which stand opposite each other are put inserted in a quartz-make light emitting tube which well transmits ultraviolet rays, and bases 3a and 3b are installed at both ends of this light emitting tube 1 to connect lead wires 4a and 4b with the bases 3a and 3b. Mercury for forming arc discharge and halogenated iron having continuous spectrums in a 250W440nm wavelength region are sealed in the inside of the light emitting tube 1, and a rare gas of 30W80Torr, e.g., such as inert gas as argor, etc., is sealed therein, and the inside diameter of the light emitting tube 1 is set at 19W23nm. Thus, it is possible to lengthen the life without adding any other metals to an iron iodide lamp. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
