titleOfInvention Production of certain kind of substituted aromatic compound
abstract PURPOSE: To produce an arom. compd. having an aliph. ketone group having an unstable part in a high yield by reacting an arom. compd. with an acyl halide in the presence of tin (IV) chloride as the catalyst in a solvent medium at a specified temp. n CONSTITUTION: An arom. compd. which can be made active in electrophilic attack and is represented by formula I, esp. a compd. represented by formula II, is reacted with a compd. represented by formula III {wherein Y is a group represented by formula IV, V, or VI [wherein (n) is an integer of 0-5; R 1 is H, OR 3 , NR 3 2 , NR 3+ 3 , N(R 3 )C(O)R 3 , O 2 CR 3 , CO 2 R 3 , (O)NR 3 2 , a 1-3C alkyl, or CR 3 2 , or O formed by two R 1 's; and R 3 is H, methyl, or ethyl] or a group represented by formula VII (wherein (n) is an integer of 1-5; and R 4 is methyl or ethyl, or two R 4 's form (CH 2 ) 2 or (CH 2 ) 3 ); and Z is O, S, or NR 3 ]} in a solvent medium at about -40°C to -100°C, pref. -50°C to -80°C, in the presence of tin (IV) chloride as the catalyst, thus giving the objective compd. represented by formula VIII, useful as an antiphlogistic agent in a high yield. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
