titleOfInvention | Funnel |
abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a funnel free from icing, by forming a vacuum layer around the outer periphery of a liquid nitrogen bowl part and an inner pipe. n CONSTITUTION: An inner container 2 of a funnel body 1 has a bowl part 19 for receiving liquid nitrogen 17 and said bowl part 19 consists of a cylindrical part 3 made of a thin stainless steel of a small thermal conductivity and an inverted conical part 4. An inner pipe 7 has a tubular part 20 for supplying downwards the liquid nitrogen 17 received in the bowl part 19. The air around the outer periphery of the inner container 2 and the inner pipe 7 is removed through a chip pipe 15 to form a vacuum layer 18. Upon liquid nitrogen feed by inserting an outer pipe 21 into a nitrogen supply opening, an outer container 10 is difficult to cool due to cooling through the vacuum layer 18 and owing to a direct heat conduction through the outer pipe 21 and the cylindrical part 3, thus making the icing of the outer container 10 and the outer pipe 21 avoidable. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
