NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (at least one of R 1 and R 2 is 3W10C alkyl and the remaining is H, 1W10C alkyl, 2W10C alkenyl, phenylalkyl, etc.; W is CO, CS or SO 2 ; A and B are phenyl, naphthyl, heterocyclic ring, phenylalkyl, 1W10C alkyl, 2W10C alkenyl, etc.,). n EXAMPLE: N'-t-butyl-N'-(4-chlorobenzene sulfonyl)-N-benzoylhydrazine. n USE: An insecticide. The compound of formula I has an excellent insecticidal activity particularly against Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Hemiptera injurious insects. n PREPARATION: A mono-substituted hydrazine of formula II is reacted with a compound of the formula Y 1 -W-B (Y 1 is halogen, alkoxy, etc.,) to prepare a compound of formula III, which is reacted with a sulfonyl halide of the formu la A-SO 2 X (X is halogen) in the presence of a base (e.g., NaOH) at a tempera ture of -5°CWthe boiling temperature of a solvent to provide the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
