NEW MATERIAL: A compound of formula I (R is H, an acyl, sulfonyl, sulfo, phospho; A is C=O, C-OH, an acylated C-OH; the dashed line exhibits a C=C double bond, when A is C=O, or the dashed line exhibits C=C bonds at the two outer bonds, when A is C-OH or an acylated C-OH). n EXAMPLE: Myxococcus xanthus Mxx 48 bacterium. n USE: A medicine for treating bacterial infectious diseases against gram-positive bacteria, and a medicine for treating gastrointestinal tumors and leukemia. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula I is prepared by converting an OH group at the 21-carbon atom of the compound of formula II into a cyano group and further converting an NH 2 group into an NHR group by an acylation or sulfonation reaction. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO |
