titleOfInvention Polyoxymethylene resin composition and production thereof
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a polyoxymethylene resin composition suitable as various mechanical parts, having excellent mechanical strength, rigidity, frictional resistance and wear characteristics, by blending a polyoxymethylene resin with carbon fibers and polyurethane resin preferably in a state wherein the carbon fibers are previously subjected to surface treatment with the polyurethane resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyoxymethylene resin is blended with (B) 1-60wt.%, preferably 5-50wt.% based on the total amounts of the composition of carbon fibers having 4-20mum diameter and the surface coated with 0.1-15wt.% preferably 0.5-10wt.% based on the carbon fibers of polyurethane resin and (C) 0-50wt.% inorganic filler (e.g., glass fibers or carbon black) except carbon fibers to give <=70wt.%, preferably 10-60wt.% total amounts of the components B and C.
