titleOfInvention Antibiotic mureidomycin e and f and derivative thereof
abstract PURPOSE:To improve antibacterial activity without causing toxicity, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces capable of producing antibiotic mureidomycin E and F in a medium. CONSTITUTION:Streptomyces flavidovirens strain SANK60486 is aerobically cultivated in a medium containing glucose, peptone, etc. at 20-37 deg.C at pH of about neutrality for 72-96hr to give a culture mixture. Then the culture mixture is purified by centrifugal separation, ion exchange treatment, etc. to produce antibiotic mureidomycin E (properties of substance; amphoteric, water- soluble or white powder; specific rotatory power: [alpha]-D<25>=-34.2 deg.) shown by formula I (X is compound shown by formula II or formula III; R is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or aralkyl), antibiotic mureidomycin F (properties of substance; as shown for antibiotic mureidomycin E; specific rotatory power: [alpha]D<25>=-40.3 deg.), derivative thereof, salt and ester thereof.
