abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R 1 is -(CH 2 ) m -cycloalkyl having 5-8C cycloalkyl which may be substituted with 1-6C alkyl (m is 0-4); R 2 is H or 1-10C alkyl] and its acid addition salt. n EXAMPLE: Cyclopentylmethyl 2-pyridylacetate. n USE: A medicine for peptic ulcer. It has gastric inhibitory action and gastric mucosa protecting action and exhibits weak toxicity. Accordingly, it is useful for the remedy of peptic ulcer. n PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be produced by (1) reacting a 2-pyridylacetic acid ester of formula II with carbon disulfide in a solvent (e.g. THF) in the presence of a base (e.g. alkyllithium reagent) at -78-0°C, (2) adding methyl iodide to the reaction mixture and stirring to obtain a compound of formula III and (3) reacting the compound with ammonia or amines of formula R 2 -NH 2 in a solvent (e.g. water or alcoholic solvent) for 1-10hr. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
