NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (A is H or 2-quinoxalyl; B is 2-pyridyl or 4-quinolyl; n is 0 or 1) and its acid addition salt. n EXAMPLE: 2-(2-Pyridylmethylthio)-quinoxaline. n USE: An antiulcer agent free from side effect. n PREPARATION: The objective compound is produced by reacting a compound of formula III (e.g., 2-mercaptoquinoxaline) with a compound of formula HalCH 2 -B (Hal is halogen) (e.g., 2-chloromethylpyridine) preferably at a molar ratio of 1:0.5W5 in an organic solvent (e.g., lower alcohol) in the presence of a base (e.g., inorganic base, organic base or alkali metal alkoxyide) at 0W150°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
