titleOfInvention Pyridine-4-carboxylic acid anilide
abstract NEW MATERIAL: A pyridine-4-carboxylic acid anilide of formula I {R is H or an alkyl; Q is C=O, C(OR 1 ) H (R 1 is H or an alkyl), formula II (R 2 is an alkyl) or formula III [(n) is 2 to 4]; Ar 1 is o-phenylene; Ar 2 is phenyl, where at least either Ar 1 or Ar 2 is substituted by a halogenoalkoxy or halogenoalkylthio] and the acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof. n EXAMPLE: N-[2-(4-trifluoromethoxybenzoyl)-phenyl]-pyridine-4-carboxamide. n USE: It is useful as pest controlling agents. n PREPARATION: For example, a pyridine-4-carbonyl halide-hydrochloride of formula IV (Hal is a halogen) is allowed to react with aminobenzophenone of formula V in the presence of a diluent and an acid binder as necessary to obtain the compd. of formula VI in which Q is C=O in the formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
