Production of polymethacrylic ester |
abstract |
PURPOSE: To produce a polyacrylic ester with a narrow molecular-weight distribution and molecular-weight almost in agreement with the theoretical value by polymerizing an acrylate using a specified aluminum porphyrin complex as an initiator. n CONSTITUTION: An acrylic ester (e.g., methyl acrylate or hexafluoroisopropyl acrylate) is polymerized normally under an inert gas such as nitrogen or helium and using, as an initiator, an aluminum porphyrin complex of the formula (R 1 and R 2 are H or 1-10C hydrocarbon; R 3 is H or 1-20C hydrocarbon which may have functional groups such as halogen, alkoxy or ester; X is enolate or thiolate) and a solvent such as benzene or THF. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
