titleOfInvention | Novel steviol glycoside and sweetener |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by the formula (n is 1 or 2; β-D-Glc is β-D-glucopyranose; α-D-Glc is α-D-glucopyranose; β-D-Gal is β-D- galactopyranose). n USE: A sweetener having strong sweetness. n PREPARATION: Stevioside as a starting raw material is added to methanol containing NaOH dissolved therein, refluxed while being heated and neutralized. n-Butanol saturated with water is then added to extract and afford steviolbioside. β-D-Galactopyranose is bound to the carboxyl group at the 19-position through ester bond and the saccharide part linked to the 13-position through ether bond is subjected to α-1,4-glucosyl transfer with an α- glucosyltransferase to provide the aimed glycoside expressed by the formula. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
