titleOfInvention Analysis of material having glycol structure such as brassinosteroid or the like by high-performance liquid chromatograph
abstract PURPOSE: To detect fluorescence by acting boric acid having an arom. group or a fluorescent chromophore in the functional group on brassinosteroids having diol in an org. solvent existing in basic environment to prepare a sample and separating the same by a column. n CONSTITUTION: The sample is prepd. by acting the boric acid having the arom. group or the fluorescent chromophore in the functional group on the brassinosteroids having the diol in the org. solvent existing in the basic environment to convert the brassinosteroids to boronate. The sample is then injected into the moving phase of a high-performance liquid chromatograph which is connected with a moving phase tank 3 via a sample injection mechanism 2 to the inflow port of the column 1 and is connected with a UV absorption photometer 4 to the outflow port. The boronate in the sample is thereby discharged and is admitted into the photometer 4 upon lapse of the time determined by the holding capacity of the column 1. This boronate exhibits absorption on the wavelength side longer than the absorption wavelength of the carbonyl group and the signal proportional to the concn. thereof is outputted. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
