abstract | PURPOSE: To bring a polar acrylic type monomer or maleimide monomer into contact with a co-catalyst such as a tetracoordinate organosilicon initiator having a polymerization start part and a fluoride under polymerization conditions. n CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of polar acrylic type monomer (example; methyl methacrylate and the like) and maleimide monomer is brought into contact with (A) the tetracoordinate organosilicon having at least one polymerization start part {example; [1-methoxy-2-methyl-1-propenyl]oxy-trimethylsilane and the like}, an organo tin or an organo germanium initiator and (B) the co-catalyst which is a complex generated by the interaction of the source of the fluoride (example; tetrabutyl ammonium fluoride and the like), a bifluoride, a cyanide or an azide ion or a Lewis acid with a complexing agent, under the polymerization conditions so as to polymerize the monomer into a mass. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO |
