titleOfInvention Piperazinylalkylpyrimidine as hypoglycemic agent
abstract NEW MATERIAL: The compd. of the formula I [X and Y are independently from each other, N, C-R 1 , provided that at last one is N; R 1 is H, 1-6C-alkyl, halogen 1-6C-alkyl, dihalogen 1-6C-alkyl or 1-6C alkoxy; R 2 and R 3 are each R 1 , NH 2 or NR 6 R 6 (R 5 and R 6 are each H, 1-6C-alkyl, or 5- and 6-membered heterocycle together with bonded N), provided that only one of R 2 and R 3 can be H, when R 2 or R 3 is NH 2 , NR 6 R 6 , X is N; R 4 is H, 1-6C alkyl, 6-10C-aryl 1-6C-alkyl, 2-6C-alkenyl or 2-6C-alkinyl] and its salt. n EXAMPLE: 4-Methyl-2-(1-piperidinyl)pyrimidine dihydrochloride. n USE: A hypoglycemic agent. Orally administratable. The compd. is capable of lowering a blood sugar value to a satisfactory level. n PROCESS: The compd. of the formula I is obtd. by treating the compd. of formula II with the compd. of formula III. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
