titleOfInvention Image preservative stabilizer for thermosensitive recording paper
abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate occurrence of texture fog and restrict the extinction of a recorded image by adding specific substituted bisphenol compounds to the thermosensitive coloring layer of thermosensitive recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Thermosensitive recording paper contains added substituted bisphenol compound shown by formula I. This compound eliminates generation of texture fog and restricts the discharge of a recorded image due to humidity or heat as superior properties. Furthermore, this compound can be industrially manufactured in a simple manner. It is easily obtained by allowing substituted phenols and ketonic acids such as glyoxylic acid and pyruvic acid to undergo reaction process in the presence of acid catalysts to obtain acids of substituted bisphenol compounds and further perform esterification of the acids. To manufacture thermosensitive recording paper, this preservative stabilizer is added to an aqueous dispersion liquid containing a coloring material which forms color at the time of heating, a developer and a binder, and this preparation is applied to base paper.
