abstract	PURPOSE: To obtain the β-isomer of the compd. useful as an antiviral agent by treating the racemic mixture of a specific component with an adenosinedeaminase, etc. n CONSTITUTION: The racemic mixture of the compd. expressed by formula I (R is amino, H) is preferably dissolved in a polar solvent, such as alcohols or water. The adenosinedeaminase is added thereto and reaction is effected preferably for 1 to 4 hours at 20 to 50°C and, if desired, the 6-keto group of the product is aminated, thereby the β-isomer of the compd. expressed by formula II is obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
