abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoplastic resin composition, consisting of a polyphenylene ether, alkenyl aromatic polymer having a syndiotactic structure and rubber-like substance and excellent in molding processability, heat and impact resistance. n CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. total amount of (A) 5W95wt.% polyphenylene ether prepared by oxidative coupling polymerization of phenols expressed by formula I (R 1 WR 5 are H, halogen, etc.) or resin composition containing the polyphenylene ether and (B) 95W5wt.% alkenyl aromatic polymer having recurring units expressed by formula II (R is H, halogen, etc.; n is 1W3), ≥5 polymerization degree and a syndiotactic structure with (C) 1W50pts.wt. rubber-like substance (e.g., ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber) or rubber-like substance obtained by grafting an alkenyl aromatic monomer thereonto.
