titleOfInvention Asymmetric hydrolysis of fluorine-containing carbonyl compound and optically active fluorine-containing carbonyl compound therefrom
abstract PURPOSE: To synthesize fluorine-contg. carbonyl compounds of high optical purity by esterification of a fluorine-contg. carbonyl compound represented by a specific generic formula followed by asymmetric hydrolysis of the resultant esterified product using, e.g., lipase. n CONSTITUTION: Firstly, the hydroxyl group of a compound of formula I (R is substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group or substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group). Thence, the resultant esterified product is asymmetrically hydrolyzed using a lipase or lipase- producing micro-organisms, thus synthesizing the objective compounds of formula II (R-type; R is the same as of the formula I) and formula III (S-type; R is the same as of the formula I), respectively. These optically active fluorine-contg. carbonyl compounds are high in optical purity and will find broad applications as intermediates practical for the fluorine chemistry. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
