titleOfInvention Dental material composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition, containing a metal-containing inorganic compound antimicrobial agent containing metallic ions, such as silver, copper and zinc, having the respective ingredients homogeneously dispersed therein without a change in antimicrobial activity by heating and especially effective against bacteria of dental caries and fungi of the genus Candida. n CONSTITUTION: A safe dental material composition containing an antimicrobial agent prepared by containing metals, such as silver, copper and zinc, having antimicrobial activity and salts thereof in an inorganic substance, such as zeolite, zeolite group, activated alumina or silica. Since the above-mentioned composition has powerful antimicrobial activity not only against fungi of the genus Candida which are a cause for occurrence of halitosis and stomatitis but also against intraoral bacteria (anaerobic bacteria, streptococci and staphylococci), dental materials containing the aforementioned antimicrobial agent is capable of preventing dental caries from recurring. The metal-containing inorganic compound antimicrobial agent is preferably dispersed into as fine a particle as possible and the amount thereof added is preferably about 0.5W6%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
