PURPOSE: To prevent cohesion of pigments at high concn., by preparing a dispersant of a reaction product of a carboxyl-contg. alkali soluble styrene- acrylic copolymer with a poly(ethylene)imine. n CONSTITUTION: A dispersant is prepd. from reaction products of carboxyl-contg. alkali soluble styrene-acrylic copolymer, a compound (I); HO(CH 2 CH 2 O) n R; (R is alkyl, alkylphenyl; n is 2W20 integer), a carboxyl-contg. ester prepd. by dehydration in excess carboxyl ratio to hydroxy, and a poly(ethylene)imine. A fine powder solid, a dispersing solvent of an organic liquid, and the above- mentioned resulting dispersant are mixed to give a dispersion.
