titleOfInvention Production of colorant composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a colorant composition which, when used in a polyolefin resin molding, does not cause its deformation due to molding shrinkage, by mixing an organic pigment with an organosilane, a metallic soap and/or a wax in the presence of an organic solvent. n CONSTITUTION: An organic pigment (any well-known organic pigment of excellent heat resistance such as an azoic, phthalonic or phthalocyanine type can be used) is mixed with an organosilane (particularly desirably, an aminoalkylalkoxysilane) and a metallic soap (e.g., zinc stearate) and/or a wax in the presence of an organic solvent (e.g., water/ethanol solvent). By using said organosilane, a colored polyolefin resin molding can be prevented from undergoing molding shrinkage. Although a pigment treated with an organosilane alone suffers an increase in the agglomeration force of pigment particles when dried and tends so suffer a decrease in dispersibility in a plastic molding material, this drawback can be overcome by using said metallic soap and/or said wax together. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
