titleOfInvention Scouring of silk fiber or woven fabric thereof
abstract PURPOSE: To freely control the extent of scouring and obtain the final product with good reproducibility, by using an alkaline buffer solution containing a specific acid and an alkaline metal salt of a specified polybasic acid as a scouring agent, controlling the ratio of the above mentioned alkaline metal salt to the acid. n CONSTITUTION: An alkaline buffer solution containing (A) an alkaline metal salt of a polybasic acid with 6W10 dissociation constant and (B) a specified acid is used as a scouring agent and the ratio of the component (A) to (B) is controlled to carry out scouring of silk fibers or woven fabrics thereof while varying the extent of the scouring. Further, as the above mentioned scouring agent, e.g., an alkaline buffer solution composed by blending potassium tetraborate with boric acid in the weight ratio of 10:3 is used. In this case, only the first sericin layer located in the outermost layer of raw silk and the mixed layer between the first and the second sericin layers receive the scouring effect, but no scouring reactions occur in sericin of layers on the inside thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
