titleOfInvention Hydrolysis-resistant polyester composition
abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a polyester markedly improved in hydrolysis resistance without detriment to the mechanical properties, surface appearance, heat resistance, etc., inherent in polyester, by mixing a polyester with specified amounts of a polyolefin and an epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. polyester is mixed with 1-20pts.wt. polyolefin and 0.1-15pts.wt. epoxy compound. By further mixing said polyester composition with 0-60wt.%, based on the composition, inorganic filler, 7-17wt.% at least one compound selected from among a brominated polycarbonate, a brominated epoxy compound and a brominated polystyrene and 2-5wt.% antimony oxide, a reinforced, flame-retarding, hydrolysis-resistant polyester composition can be formed. This improving effect is marked for a polyester, especially, polybutylene terephthalate.
