titleOfInvention Molded polymer item, preparation thereof and combination of reactive solution therewith
abstract PURPOSE:To improve the impact resistance and heat resistance of a molded item, by carrying out simultaneously polymn. and molding of a monomer capable of metathesis polymn. in the presence of both a specified polymer and a metathesis polymn. catalyst in a mold. CONSTITUTION:Bulk polymn. and molding of a monomer capable of metathesis polymn. (A) (e.g., dicyclopentadiene) are simultaneously carried out in a mold in the coexistence of a polymer consisting of 75-95mol.% ethylene and 25-5mol.% butylene and/or nonconjugated diene and having a solubility of substantially 3wt.% or higher in a mixed soln. consisting of 90wt.% dicyclopentadiene and 10wt.% ethylidenenorbornene in the presence of a metathesis polymn. catalyst (C) consisting of a catalytic component (e.g., tungsten hexachloride) and an activating component (e.g., dioctylaluminum iodide).
