abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The dihydric phenol compound of formula (n is 2W5). n EXAMPLE: 1,4-Bis-[2-hydroxy-3-[4-{2-hydroxy-3-(4-hydroxyphenoxy)-1- propanoxy}phenoxy]-1-propanoxy]benzene. n USE: Useful for the production of epoxy resin, polycarbonate resin or various modified polyester resin, etc. The above resins such as epoxy resin produced by the use of the above compound have excellent heat-resistance, adhesivity and gas barrierness and is easily handleable. n PREPARATION: The compound of formula can be produced e.g. by adding 4- benzyloxyphenol to hydroquinone diglycidyl ether and subjecting the resultant 1,4-bis-{2-hydroxy-3-(4-benzyloxyphenoxy)-1-propanoxy}benzene to catalytic hydrocracking. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
