PURPOSE: To obtain the above fine particles having an extremely small and uniform particle diameter, by hydrolyzing an organotrialkoxysilane and subjecting the resultant organosilanetriol (partial condensate) to polycondensation reaction. n CONSTITUTION: An organotrialkoxysilane expressed by formula I [R 1 is monofunctional (substituted) hydrocarbon; R 2 is (substituted) alkyl] is hydrolyzed in the presence of an organic acid (e.g., formic acid) to provide an organosilanetriol expressed by formula II or a partial condensate thereof, which is then subjected to polycondensation reaction in an alkaline aqueous solution (e.g., aqueous solution of ammonia) or a mixture solution of the above-mentioned aqueous solution with an organic solvent to afford organosilsesquioxane fine particles having 0.01W0.05μm average particle diameter and hydrocarbon groups which are ≤6C alkyl, vinyl groups, etc., linked to silicon atom. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
