abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a guanethidine sulfate ointment which is stable and promoting subcutaneous absorption by using specific amounts of guaoethidine sulfate, nonionic, water-soluble polymer and propylene glycol and water. n CONSTITUTION: The subject ointment is composed of 0.01W10wt.% of guanethidine sulfate, 0.1W50wt.% of nonionic water-soluble polymer, 2W50wt.%, preferably 5W35wt.% of propylene glycol and the rest of water. As a nonionic, water-soluble polymer, is cited hydroxypropyle cellulose or hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. Preferably, the hydroxypropylcellulose, according to Japanese Pharmacopoeia, containing 53.5W77.5wt.%, preferably 60W70wt.% of hydroxypropoxyl groups, is used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
