abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an antioxidant, containing an extract of bamboos and tocopherol, having powerful antioxidant power with extremely high safety for human bodies and useful for food, feed, etc. n CONSTITUTION: The objective antioxidant obtained by pulverizing bamboos optimally consisting of leaves and epidermises from stems of Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel using a ball mill, etc., and extracting the pulverized bamboos with a solvent, such as ethanol, n-hexane, ether or acetone, to provide an extract of the bamboos and mixing 100pts.wt. resultant extract with 10W1,000pts.wt. tocopherol (preferably natural concentrated tocopherol and diluted with fats and oils).
