abstract PURPOSE:To separate and recover a specific bromodichlorobenzene isomer, especially 1-bromo-3,5-dichlorobenzene from a mixture of bromodichlorobenzene isomers, in high purity and efficiency, by using a zeolite as an adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:A specific bromodichlorobenzene isomer, especially 1-bromo-3,5- dichlorobenzene useful as an intermediate raw material for agricultural chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, etc., is separated from a mixture of bromodichlorobenzene isomers containing 1-bromo-3,5-dichlorobenzene, 1- bromo-2,4-dichlorobenzene, 1-bromo-2,6-dichlorobenzene, 1-bromo-2,5- dichlorobenzene, etc., by using a zeolite (especially a faujasite zeolite containing cations selected from metallic ions of group IA, IB and IIA of the periodic table and proton) as an adsorbent.
