titleOfInvention Production of acrylamide/acid type copolymer having high molecular weight
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject copolymer excellent in the uniformity of the compsn. and molecular weight with the procedure simplified by deoxidizing a diluted aq. soln. of acrylamide, sodium acrylate and ammonium persulfate in an inert gas and thereafter executing copolymerization under specified conditions. n CONSTITUTION: A diluted aq. soln. in which acrylamide, sodium acrylate and ammonium persulfate are dissolved into water so as to regulate their concns. in an aq. soln. to (A) 3.0 to 6.0 wt.% acrylamide, (B) 0.4 to 0.8 wt.% sodium acrylate and (C) 0.001 to 0.07 wt.% ammonium persulfate and also to regulate the ratio of A/B to (8 to 10)/(0.6 to 1.2) is deoxidized in an inert gas. Then, the deoxidized dilute aq. soln. is copolymerized by a batch system or a continuous system at 50 to 75°C for 1 to 10 hr to obtain the objective copolymer e.g. having about 10 6 dalton molecular weight. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
