titleOfInvention | Method for purifying protoporphyrin diester |
abstract | PURPOSE: To industrially and advantageously purify the title compound useful as a remedy for liver, etc., by refluxing a crude protoporphyrin dieter using an aqueous solvent, followed by cooling to recover a precipitate, which precipitate is further refluxed using a poor solvent for the compound, followed by cooling to recrystallize. n CONSTITUTION: A blood powder and ferrous sulfate anhydride are added to ethanol and hydrogen chloride gas is introduced thereinto to carry out reaction, followed by solid-liquid separation. Chloroform is added to the filtrate and the mixture is washed with water and an aqueous ammonia, then the chloroform layer is separated. The solvent is distilled off to afford a crude protoporphyrin diethyl ester. Then this product is refluxed by using an aqueous solvent and cooled to recover a precipitate, which is refluxed by using a poor solvent for the protoporphyrin diester (example; methanol, etc.) and cooled to recrystallize protoporphyrin. Thereby, the aimed compound is purified. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
