titleOfInvention Production of resol phenol resin foam
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title foam improved in water absorptivity, water retentivity and an ability to keep flowers long, by foaming and curing a resol phenol resin in the presence of a specified acid curing agent, a blowing agent, a surfactant for cell modification and a surfactant for accelerating water absorption and wetting. n CONSTITUTION: An acid curing agent (B) is obtained by mixing a phenolsulfonic acid of an effective component content ≥50% with phosphoric acid of an effective component content ≥50% in a mixing ratio (in terms of effective components) of 5W50pts.wt. to 95W50pts.wt. 100pts.wt. resol phenol resin (A) obtained by reacting a phenol (e.g., phenol) with an aldehyde (e.g., formalin) in the presence of an alkali catalyst is mixed with 3W20pts.wt. component B, low-boiling organic blowing agent (C) (e.g. fluorotrichloromethane), a surfactant (D) for cell modification (e.g., polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate) and a surfactant (E) for accelerating water absorption and wetting (e.g., sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
