titleOfInvention Production of 3alpha,16alpha-apovincaminic acid ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound which has vasodilative action through a one-stage reaction with simple operations by conducting a condensation reaction of 3α,16α-apovincaminic acid with a lower alcohol using 1,3-dialkyl-2- halogeno-imidazolinium halogenide as a condensation reagent. n CONSTITUTION: The reaction of 3α,16α-apovincaminic acid with a lower alcohol is carried out, using 1,3-dialkyl-2-halogeno-imidazolinium halogenide such as 1,3-dimethyl-2-chloroimidazolinium chloride as a condensation agent, to obtain a 3α,16α-apovincaminic acid ester such as ethyl 3α,16α-apovincaminate. The reaction proceeds quantitatively at room temperature to give the subject compound in high yield. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
