PURPOSE: To obtain a thermosetting resin having excellent heat, chemical resistance and mechanical characteristics, by rapidly reacting a polycyclic iminoether with a compound having relatively low reactivity in the presence of a catalyst. n CONSTITUTION: (A) An organic compound (e.g., ethylene glycol) having at least 2 groups of the group consisting of alcoholic hydroxyl groups, aromatic amino groups and aromatic aminomethyl groups is thermally reacted with (B) a polycyclic iminoether expressed by formula I (n is 2W4; R is n-valent hydrocarbon residue which may be interrupted by an atom. other than carbon or a group containing atom. other than the carbon; Z is direct bond or formula II; R a WR f are H, methyl, ethyl, propyl, phenyl, tolyl or benzyl and R is direct bond when n is 2) and (C) a compound (e.g., ester of a protonic acid having ≤1.0 pKa) acting as an acidic catalyst to afford the aimed thermosetting resin. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
