abstract |
PURPOSE: To obtain liposome including an antibiotic which is used in treatment for intractable infectious diseases, by allowing the liposome to include an antibiotic and coating the liposome with a polysaccharide derivative occurring in nature on its surface. n CONSTITUTION: An antibiotic, preferably ampicillin or minocycline is included inside the liposome whose membrane is composed of a phospholipid or a combination thereof with cholesterol. Then, the liposome is coated with a natural polysaccharide derivative such as mannan or amylopectin on its surface. The polysaccharide derivative is substituted 0.5W5 primary alcohol groups per 100 units of the monosaccharides with cholesteryloxycarbonyl- aminoethylaminocarbonylmethyl groups. Natural release of the antibiotic included inside is controlled and the efficiency is improved in the transfer of liposome into cells. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio |
