titleOfInvention Method for dyeing modified polyester fiber
abstract PURPOSE: To dye a modified polyester fiber to a bright color at a high temperature with hardly any deterioration in fibers, by adding a specific amount of a specified onium compound in dyeing the modified polyester fiber containing an ester-forming quaternary phosphonium sulfonate copolymerized therein. n CONSTITUTION: A modified polyester based fiber containing an ester-forming quaternary phosphonium sulfonate (e.g., tetrabutylphosphonium 3,5- dicarboxybenzenesulfonate) copolymerized therein is dyed with a cationic dye. In the process, a quaternary ammonium compound expressed by the formula (V is N or P; R 1 WR 4 are alkyl, aryl, etc.; X is anion) or quaternary phosphonium compound [preferred example; tetramethylammonium (or phoshonium) chloride] or both in an amount so as to be within the range of 0.5W50 mequiv./l are present in a dye bath thereof to carry out dyeing treatment at 100W140°C. Thereby, the fibers are homogeneously dyed to a bright color hardly deteriorating polymerization degree of the fiber. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
