abstract PURPOSE: To make it possible to measure accurately without suffering the effect of a disturbing substance, by fixing an enzyme to a selective transmission film which is formed of a mixed composition having a resin emulsion and water-soluble polymer as main components and is obtained by applying ionizing radiation or ultraviolet rays thereto. n CONSTITUTION: Ionizing radiation or ultraviolet rays is applied to a film formed of a mixed composition whose main components are a resin emulsion being settable by the ionizing radiation or the ultraviolet rays and a water-soluble polymer, an enzyme is fixed to a selective transmission film thus obtained, and the film is fitted on a conductive substrate to be used as an acting electrode. It is also possible to form the selective transmission film directly on the conductive substrate and further to fix the enzyme to the selective transmission film to be used as a similar acting electrode. As for the conductive substrate, platinum, gold, carbon or the like is used therefor. The resin emulsion used for forming the selective transmission film needs to contain one kind or more of a prepolymer or a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond. As for the water-soluble polymer, a cellulose derivative such as an alginic acid and methyl cellulose, or the like is used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
