titleOfInvention Polyphenylene sulfide composition
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition having controllable melt- crystallization temperature of blended material and suitable for film, fiber, mechanical part, etc., by blending a polymer produced by the polymerization in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a specific compound and an alkali or alkaline-earth metal compound. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by polymerizing (A) a polyphenylene sulfide in the presence of a catalyst consisting of (B) preferably 0.1W25mol% of a compound of formula (Ar is 6W24C aromatic group; X is SO 3 , etc.; M is alkali metal; m and n are 1 or 2) (e.g., phenol-4-sulfonic acid) and (C) preferably 0.5W1.5mol (based on 1mol of the hydroxyl group of the component B) of oxide and/or alcoholate of an alkali metal of alkaline-earth metal and (2) blending the obtained polymer with (D) a polyphenylene sulfide produced by Phillips process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
